Società di Belle Arti

Since1961 Società di Belle Arti is a reference point for the sale and purchase, for the evaluation, management and intermediation of Italian paintings ofthe 19th and 20th centuries. Founded by Giuliano Matteucci and at present managed by Francesco Palminteri, it has achieved a leading role as a contact for some of the most important museums, bank foundations and private amateurs, thus contributing to enrich the collections with important works of art. All that was also possible thanks to the firm fiduciary relations with the heirs of the most important historic collections and to the many contacts cultivated in the course of a long and well-established experience. Knowing that in a sector as delicate as the art market is, that condition, along with the high professionalism and the wide esteem, represents a valuable heritage to be preserved and increased, the Society of Fine Arts aspires to identify with the "connoisseur" art dealer of former times. If, as Delacroix asserts, this is equivalent to admit that "the first virtue of a painting is being a feast for the eyes", the Society of Fine Arts fully reflects that model. Its own principle is in fact to attach more value to the quality of the paintings rather than to their signatures, and it wants to take on this line for a long time.
