“The most important exhibition in the world for Italian art”. This is the Florence International Biennial Antiques Fair (BIAF) according to Secretary General, Fabrizio Moretti. A feast for the arts, the fair celebrated its 60th anniversary from its foundation in 2019; each year it manages to impress visitors with works that could well belong to an art history textbook. The history of the Biennial, from its origins in 1959 up to today, is a most interesting one and well worth retracing, as it gauges the style, taste and knowledge as they change over the years.
