Galleria Berardi

Founded in 2004
Galleria Berardi specializes in European masters of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Gianluca Berardi is a founding member of '' Archivio dell'Ottocento romano "and publishes essays in the most famous national and international scientific journals. Former professor at the University of Rome La Sapienza with a course on nineteenth century painting in Italy, Gianluca Berardi plays its antiquarian activities as an occasion of historic and artistic depth of a period from 1830 to 1930. Hence the publication of some real monographs accompanying the sale of the gallery exhibitions: among others remember the volumes dedicated to Francesco Paolo Michetti, Hermann Corrodi, Karl Bryullov, Giulio Aristide Sartorio and Arturo Noci. Periodic also other miscellaneous exhibitions with different authors and the customers of the gallery each month are updated with the new acquisitions, coming almost exclusively from private collections. Galleria Berardi participates in the Biennale di Palazzo Venezia in Rome and Excelsior section, in fact, a focus on the nineteenth century painting, held within Modenantiquaria. Its customers also prestigious national and international museums.

    The work constitutes the first idea for one of the marble sculptures that Eugenio Baroni created by 1935 for the Tennis Stadium of the Foro Italico in Rome (at the time “Foro Mussolini”).

    La processione del Corpus Domini a Chieti fu presentata da Francesco Paolo Michetti all'Esposizione nazionale di Napoli del 1877 dove, vinto uno dei due premi per la pittura consistente nella somma di quattromila lire, fu salutata come l'opera più significativa della mostra tra il clamore suscitato da alcune critiche e da innumerevoli apprezzamenti.
