In the early 1920s, my grandfather Paolino transformed his passion for the antiques into a profession: he opened a workshop in Via Costantinopoli, in the heart of Naples, a stone’s throw from the faculty of Fine Arts, that was very popular with Neapolitan artists and collectors. After the difficult years during WWI, the fondness for the antiques was transmitted onto my father Gennaro, who decided to transfer the business close to Piazza dei Martiri, now the parlour of Naples, in a historic venue that had hosted a famous night club, the Conchiglia, until shortly beforehand. I have kept this tradition in the Via Morelli gallery alive ever since the early 1990s: here I regularly meet clients and collectors, friends with whom I share the pleasure of presenting objects that are the result of my incessant research within important Italian – chiefly Neapolitan – collections. Ever since I was young, I have been a member of the Italian Antiquarians Association and I have always taken part in the most prestigious art fairs, such as the Florence and Rome International Biennial Antiques Fairs, then others in Milan, Modena and Assisi.
