VIVIOLI ARTE ANTICA was established in 1992 in Genoa city centre and is managed by Luca Vivioli, son of Lazzaro, an antique dealer since 1965. Luca moved to London in 1987 and attended a specialisation course in Fine & Decorative Arts at the V&A and then an MA in Oriental Arts at SOAS, in collaboration with Sotheby’s, specialising in Carpets and Chinese Art. He went back to Genoa in 1992 and opened his first art gallery at Palazzo Ducale. The deep knowledge in history of art (BA in economics before his art studies) and experience in private collections brought Mr. Vivioli to develop an exclusive and international taste for antique works of art, selected for quality, rarity and esteemed provenance. He mainly focuses on continental furniture, paintings, sculpture and decorative arts from the 17th to the early 19th century with a special interest in Genoese 18th century furniture masterworks. Selected Oriental decorative arts and Eastern carpets are also a must in his gallery. Vivioli Arte Antica regularly takes part in the most important antiques fair worldwide, such as the Florence and Milan International Antiques Fair, Gotha in Parma, Modena Antiquaria, the Salon des Collectionneurs in Paris, Eurantica in Brussels, Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair in London and many more. Recently his keen connoisseur’s eye opened to some selections of Modernism and Contemporary art to meet the changing taste of his international clientele.
