The Porcini Gallery was founded in 1969 by Vincenzo Porcini in Naples’ old town, next to the Academy of Fine Arts, once a benchmark for antique dealers in the city. As a passionate connoisseur of ancient art, with a particular fondness for the Kingdom of the Bourbons, Mr. Porcini has researched the paintings and objects that sophisticated Grand Tour travellers had dispersed around the world, thus bringing them together in new and wonderful collections. The gallery moved to the present location in Piazza Vittoria 6 In 1986; thanks to Dario Porcini, it specialises in Old Master paintings, with an emphasis on Italian and foreign artists who were active in Italy. The Porcini Gallery takes part in the Florence and Rome International Biennial Antiques Fairs and Paris Tableau, in addition to being in constant dialogue with international institutions and scholars.
